About Purdue Trumpets:
The Purdue University Trumpet Section has a very long and colorful history with Purdue University Bands. From the marching field to the concert halls, from the jazz bands to our presence in the stadiums, we establish an atmosphere of excellence and standard for the best in music. We take great pride in being one of the largest sections of the band in many of the musical organizations at Purdue. Being a part of the Purdue Trumpet section means taking your trumpet skills to the next level, and while you do, being able to represent Purdue in numerous venues across the country and abroad.

With a large marching band, 2 fall concert bands, 5 spring concert bands, fall & spring orchestra, 4 fall & spring jazz bands, a summer jazz band, a summer concert band, 2 basketball pep bands, 1 volleyball pep band, winter drumline, and winter guard, there are plenty of ways to stay involved with music year round with whatever musical talents you possess.

If you played trumpet in high school, or any other instrument for that matter, you owe it to yourself to try it out at the collegiate level. Being a part of a collegiate music program is a vastly different experience to whatever you may have experienced in high school. With so many great ensembles to choose from, there really is something for everyone. If you feel that marching band, for example, may be too much of a time or energy commitment, there are plenty of other ensembles in our jazz and concert departments that are great groups to get involved in that are not all as time demanding. In addition, most ensembles, excluding the pep bands, can be taken for 2 credit hours of what usually amounts to an easy A. This can prove to be a big help to your overall GPA for something that will typically be much less demanding than your other classes and provide a nice change of pace during your weekly hectic schedule.

By joining the Purdue Trumpet Section, we also hope that you will establish a solid network of friends within our section and with the rest of the band. Having a strong friend network may prove to be an invaluable resource in helping you get through college and beyond. We also hope that provision of this interactive online community for the Purdue Trumpet Section will facilitate your development of your peer networks and allow you to better interact with your fellow trumpets.

Getting Registered on the Purdue Trumpet Drupal site:
Purpose for registering: People who register on our Drupal site will be given privileges to be able to post comments on our forum, vote on polls and use other features as they become available. Distinguished registered users may be given further privileges to upload and create new content for the website as the webmaster sees fit.

Who can register: If you are a current member of the Purdue Trumpet Section, a prospective member, alumni member, a supporter, or otherwise associated with the Purdue Trumpet Section you are welcome to apply for a user account on our Drupal site. Please understand that an administrator will need to approve your account and may need to confirm your intentions as to use of our site. Your account privileges may be revoked without warning if any significant abuse is observed.

Getting Registered on the Purdue Trumpet Photo Gallery site:
Purpose for registering: People who register on our photo gallery site will be given privileges to be able to upload photos on our photo gallery site. Distinguished registered users may be given further privileges to upload batch files of pictures, upload pictures via FTP, create new albums, organize picture content and other privileges as the webmaster sees fit.

Who can register: If you are a current member of the Purdue Trumpet Section, a prospective member, alumni member, a supporter, or otherwise associated with the Purdue Trumpet Section you are welcome to apply for a user account on our photo gallery site. Please understand that an administrator will need to approve your account and may need to confirm your intentions as to use of our site. Our photo gallery should only be used for the purposes of publishing photographic material of or relating to the Purdue Trumpet Section or Purdue University Bands. Your account privileges may be revoked without warning if any significant abuse is observed.

How to Register: Email the trumpet webmaster at webmaster@purduetrumpets.com. Please specify your intentions as to use of the photo gallery site and what you would like your user name to be.

Relinquishment of Rights: By registering with the Purdue Trumpet photo gallery, you are knowingly relinquishing the right to claim copyright infringement on any material uploaded to our site. We will make an effort to give credit where it is due if uploaded material is used in further enhancing this website. However, we cannot be responsible for people downloading your pictures and using them elsewhere without giving you credit even though this is highly unethical and highly discouraged.

Photo Gallery Anti-Piracy Notice: Anybody who downloads content from our photo gallery should do so only for their personal enjoyment or reference.
